ARTIST INFO

LARS MOSTON

(German version further down)

British-German DJ/producer Lars Moston is one half of Moston & Malente, one third of The Killergroove Formula and he is also very active as a solo artist.

Moston & Malente have been big in the game ever since their first release "In the Sky" on Hamburg-based Moonbootique Rec. became a club hit that earned them no.4 in the German Club Chart (DCC), world-wide compilation deals and video airplay on music television. More recently, it was "The 2 & Only" on Manchester's high-rising Breaks imprint Splank! Rec. that made a name for Moston & Malente in the UK after it was crowned Record Of The Month in IDJ magazine. The follow-up single “F*cked Up“, also on Splank, is already making big waves.

Lars Moston is now also entering the big league with his crew The Killergroove Formula, who received awesome DJ feedback and rave reviews for their debut album "Territory: World" (Lounge Rec.) after having already had a string of successful productions and remixes on well-respected labels such as Lab-Rok and Unique Records.

Solo work has been biggest on Lars’s agenda though lately, resulting in three singles in 2007. With valuable support coming from big names such as Etienne de Crecy, Mason and Boris Dlugosch, “We Like This“, “So Bad” and “Ever Since I Heard The Sound” have built Lars Moston’s reputation as a solo artist. The first solo release of 2008 is “What Now” on Kisu Music, which will be followed shortly by “Jack It!” on Freakz Me Out Rec.

When DJing, Lars mixes a unique Electro style. Enjoying a pumping 4/4 beat just as much as breaking it up, he dishes out trademark tunage to a wide variety of crowds. Sometimes crazy, sometimes tough, sometimes funky but always rocking, Lars’s sets are raising roofs all over the place. Having headlined gigs in the UK, Spain, Russia, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Ukraine and Germany in 2007 alone, he is now set to move dancefloors worldwide. Apart from touring, Lars Moston holds a residency at Cologne’s no.1 party, the mad and massive Loonyland. With headliners including 2 Many DJs, Boys Noize, Hell, Tiga, Felix da Housecat, Surkin, Moonbootica or Crookers, these nights are the ideal playground for refining his positive, in-your-face electronic party sound.

Deutsch:

Der Nachfolger „The 2 & Only“ erschien bei Splank! Of The Month“ in IDJ Magazine.

Eigener Style, eigene Styles?
